Dwayne was born and raised in Botwood and has been a teacher for 25 years. During his time at Memorial University in St. Johns he began volunteering at the university radio station, CHMR-AM (later CHMR-FM) where he had his own radio show for four years.

Dwayne now resides in Grand Falls-Windsor and is married with two daughters. He is an antique car enthusiast and is a member of the Central Newfoundland Antique Car Club.

Dwayne also has a deep passion for music and he thoroughly enjoys volunteering at Valley Radio. On his show, Dwayne plays a wide array of music from a variety of different genres.
