About Amy

Wellness With Amy

Amy Palmer was born and raised in St John’s, and has always been passionate about finding ways to help others. She attended Memorial University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Education. She also completed a Life Skills Coaching Certificate through Rhodes College.

Through her desire to work ground-level with people in her community, she started her career in the non-profit sector, facilitating a skills training program to help those facing barriers to employment find and maintain meaningful work. During this time, she found the importance of mental health education, and the need for further interventions to promote mental wellness. She is now the Central Regional Manager for the Canadian Mental Health Association, located in Grand Falls-Windsor. In this role, Amy provides mental health awareness, works to create capacity within the community, and facilitates various mental health courses and presentations.

Amy has always had a passion for music, playing piano from a young age and always being interested in various genres. She uses music as an outlet for self care and her own mental well being, and is eager to share her love of music with the community.
