About Whiskey

Drive for Five, Whiskey’s Top 15 Country

Whiskey was born in Grand Falls-Windsor and prefers to let people guess the date.

He went to school at St. Michael’s High School where he graduated and was voted Valedictorian in his graduating year. For a few years he worked with Woolworth’s in Grand Falls-Windsor and in Stephenville. After careful consideration he decided to further his education and enrolled in Memorial University of Newfoundland where he was successful in attaining a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education Degree. Upon graduation, he was employed as a High School Teacher until his recent retirement.

Whiskey has always been an active volunteer in the community and has served with the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, and the Lionel Kelland House Project.

Whiskey has always had a love of music and was a very successful DJ in Grand Falls-Windsor, St. John’s, and Halifax Nova Scotia. He has a particular keen sense for knowing what the audience will enjoy. While still a huge fan of classic rock acts like Elton John, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple etc, he now has a fondness for the new country music.

You can hear Whiskey Rhodes at 4:00 -5:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday with The Drive for 5 and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with Whiskey’s Top 15 Country.
